Twilight

Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga is an int'l bestseller. I've read the book - Twilight. It's not as bad as I thought. I used to dislike this whole Twilight thing. I wondered why people go gaga for this and that vampire-boy.

The first thought that entered my mind was, "Anong natutunan ko?"
Ayon na, ang sagot ko, "Wala." Another disappointment. What a waste of time!

It's about Bella, a typical girl and a transferee to a new school, and the vampire-boy. He's sweet - Edward Cullen. Everybody, the readers, liked/likes him. Edwards struggles because he can smell Bella blood. Bella risks her life just to be with him - though she appeared kind'a stupid.

But this book (Sorry but) wasted my time. But at least, I realized it earlier than others did. Well, maybe it's only for entertaining. I believe that the most important thing in reading is learning. Ohh.
Maybe Stephenie thought that we all need a break from all the perfect fairytale stories - she's right, then.

The film, though fanatics are usually disappointed, is a way better than the book. The director and producers brought out the best. Good casting and interesting plot. They know where to cut and where to add good stuffs. I liked the movie than the book.

Dear John

Another Nicholas Sparks' Classic. True love knows when to let go. Story of John, an soldier, and Savannah. They met in the most unexpected time. The found love at each other. When John left for his job, the decided to send letters to each other. "Dear John", the two words that shook their world. Returning home, John should face the land he left, finding answers for his question and looking for the woman she fell in love with last vacation.

Find yourselves crying. Nicholas is great in putting twists in his stories. Some find this disappointing but some find it worth-reading. Moving story plus great words used.

The film starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried is great. Can't find the right words to describe it - though The Notebook is a lot better than this. Good actors and good story = Job well done.

The Notebook

My favorite book and my favorite movie. A story of true love. The story revolves around Noah and Allie, starting from their carefree years to gray hair days. Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook is, somehow, a story of miracle of love and its power.

Noah fell for Allie, beautiful and from a wealthy family. Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton didn't like Noah for Allie because they believed that he doesn't deserve her. Noah was a country boy while Allie was a city girl of money. That summer, they shared joy and love. Allie was forced to go college, leaving Noah behind. Noah, loving Allie so much, sent 360 letters for a year, one letter each day. After so much of waiting, he decided to serve for World War II. When he returned, his father gave up their house and gave it to Noah. He restored an old house near the river. He worked very hard to make the house look as new. After some writers discovered Noah's amazing job and posted it in a newspaper, Allie returned to North Carolina. Allie decided to choose Noah over Lon, a wealthy soldier and her fiancé.
"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. And that's what you've given me. That's what I'd hoped to give you forever."

- from The Notebook

Allie and Noah's endless love touched my heart. Until the part where Noah/Duke reads to Allie. Allie was suffering from Alzheimer's. Patiently, Duke told Allie the story of their love from the notebook that Allie kept. There were rough times but Duke managed to hold tight for Allie.

5 stars for both.

Things Teenagers Can't Live Without
1. Cellphone - Aside from being a social status symbol , it is a necessity to many . Helps everyone specially during emergencies like suspended classes , you're lost , forgotten PE uniforms and other studying materials at home .

2. Jeans - basic part of the teenage wardrobe .

3. Mall - I don't know why or which part of the mall made every teenager fall for it . Maybe because it''s the ultimate gimmick place . You find everything there , from clothes to magazines , donuts to ice cream parlors , coffee bars and restos , billiards and counterstrike , almost everything .

4. Internet - maybe because it helps us with our homeworks and research projects , the IM chat , downloading stuffs , e-mail , shop online , watch movies , and more .

5. TV - I used to love TV when I was little . I loved watching Tom&Jerry , power puff girls , and House of Mouse . Now , I like different shows . Thanks to Skycable network, more channels = more fun , with different shows that matches my interests .

6. Music - is life !

7. Hanging out - teens love get-together's .
