Twilight
The first thought that entered my mind was, "Anong natutunan ko?"
Ayon na, ang sagot ko, "Wala." Another disappointment. What a waste of time!
It's about Bella, a typical girl and a transferee to a new school, and the vampire-boy. He's sweet - Edward Cullen. Everybody, the readers, liked/likes him. Edwards struggles because he can smell Bella blood. Bella risks her life just to be with him - though she appeared kind'a stupid.
But this book (Sorry but) wasted my time. But at least, I realized it earlier than others did. Well, maybe it's only for entertaining. I believe that the most important thing in reading is learning. Ohh.
Maybe Stephenie thought that we all need a break from all the perfect fairytale stories - she's right, then.

The film, though fanatics are usually disappointed, is a way better than the book. The director and producers brought out the best. Good casting and interesting plot. They know where to cut and where to add good stuffs. I liked the movie than the book.

Dear John

Another Nicholas Sparks' Classic. True love knows when to let go. Story of John, an soldier, and Savannah. They met in the most unexpected time. The found love at each other. When John left for his job, the decided to send letters to each other. "Dear John", the two words that shook their world. Returning home, John should face the land he left, finding answers for his question and looking for the woman she fell in love with last vacation.
Find yourselves crying. Nicholas is great in putting twists in his stories. Some find this disappointing but some find it worth-reading. Moving story plus great words used.
The film starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried is great. Can't find the right words to describe it - though The Notebook is a lot better than this. Good actors and good story = Job well done.

The Notebook

Noah fell for Allie, beautiful and from a wealthy family. Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton didn't like Noah for Allie because they believed that he doesn't deserve her. Noah was a country boy while Allie was a city girl of money. That summer, they shared joy and love. Allie was forced to go college, leaving Noah behind. Noah, loving Allie so much, sent 360 letters for a year, one letter each day. After so much of waiting, he decided to serve for World War II. When he returned, his father gave up their house and gave it to Noah. He restored an old house near the river. He worked very hard to make the house look as new. After some writers discovered Noah's amazing job and posted it in a newspaper, Allie returned to North Carolina. Allie decided to choose Noah over Lon, a wealthy soldier and her fiancé.
"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. And that's what you've given me. That's what I'd hoped to give you forever."
- from The Notebook
Allie and Noah's endless love touched my heart. Until the part where Noah/Duke reads to Allie. Allie was suffering from Alzheimer's. Patiently, Duke told Allie the story of their love from the notebook that Allie kept. There were rough times but Duke managed to hold tight for Allie.
5 stars for both.

Happy day today

Another happy day. My day was quite boring and boring and sleepy and happy. Yey! We have classes tomorrow. BTW, Saturday was hell. We finished our quarterly exams last Saturday. After the brain-wrecking Science exam, I went to Las Piñas with Kog, then to Rob Ermita. He did bought me new books. Thanks, men! Love me, I know. :)) Hahah. Nicholas Sparks' Dear John and David Levithan's Wide Awake. I guess, I'll love Levithan's. I got a copy of Nick&Norah's Infinite Playlist (thanks to Kog again) and browsed some pages (i'm not starting yet) and liked it. I always loved N. Sparks' , he's really really great! Nothings really special today, but we ate dinner at Chowkings. Special? Yea, we never eat dinner together- of course we're high school-ers palang. :)) And hey, Dear John's showing will be on 2010. Click me for details.
Somewhere in your heart try to find a place for me, somewhere in your heart I won’t care where it would be. one little corner may not mean so much to you, but one little corner is all I ask of you.
